Paleo Pumpkin Bread


  • 1 1/2 cups almond meal
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 3/4 tsp bicarb soda
  • 2 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 4 organic free-range eggs
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup vegan dark chocolate, chopped


Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees C and line a loaf tin with baking paper

In a large bowl, stir together all the dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, pumpkin, maple syrup and vanilla. Combine the wet with dry ingredients, lastly stirring through the dark chocolate pieces

Pour into loaf and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool or rack. Slice. Serve as is, or with coconut yoghurt, coconut ghee or your favourite nut butter.
