This is the ultimate Everest journey for those who want it all. Over 22 extraordinary days, we trek deep into the Khumbu, linking together the region’s most iconic highlights with hidden alpine gems. From the prayer-flag-lined summit of Kala Patar to the windswept peak of Gokyo Ri, this expedition traverses Everest Base Camp, the turquoise Gokyo Lakes, and the mighty Chola Pass – delivering a complete, uncompromising immersion in the spirit and scale of the Himalayas.
What makes this route unique is its balance. It captures the renowned Everest Base Camp, then pulls you further into the quiet beauty of the Gokyo Valley. While many treks stop at Base Camp and return, we venture beyond – to the blue glacial lakes and the summit of Gokyo Ri, with panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu – four of the world’s 8,000m peaks.
Activity Grade: MEDIUM
This is a trek, not a climb – there’s no technical gear required. But the terrain is rugged and remote, and at times, physically demanding. You’ll spend 16 days on the trail, covering 6–15km per day, including some steep and rocky ascents over glacial terrain. The crossing of Chola Pass is a highlight – a dramatic high saddle where weather, snow, and timing all matter. Each night we rest in traditional teahouses – modest, warm lodges offering home-cooked meals, clean beds, and a shared camaraderie that makes Himalayan travel so special.
This high-altitude trek reaches 5550m, and includes consecutive days on foot. Most are capable of such a trek, with the right preparation. A solid base of cardiovascular fitness is required, and the mental resilience to manage altitude and some chilly mornings. You’ll trek for up to 10 hours on some days, carrying a light daypack, with acclimatisation days carefully built into the itinerary. While creature comforts are few in the high mountains, we enhance your experience with premium touches, including 5-star hotels in Kathmandu, private helicopter flights, and comfortable road transport. This is a physically demanding adventure, not a technical one, and with the right preparation, it’s a highly achievable and incredibly rewarding journey.
✅ Private chartered helicopter flights – A safer, smoother, and more reliable alternative to fixed-wing planes, giving you peace of mind and an unforgettable way to experience the Himalayas.
✅ Altitude acclimatisation optimised – Extra acclimatisation days placed where they matter most, helping your body adjust, feel stronger, and perform better at altitude.
✅ Gokyo Lakes & Ngozumpa Glacier – Trek through the shimmering, sacred lakes and traverse Nepal’s longest glacier - a route most trekkers never see.
✅ Extra time in Kathmandu – Time to soak up the energy of Kathmandu before the trek and space to reflect and recover once the journey ends.
✅ World leading safety procedures – All adventures are equipped with satellite phones, emergency beacons, medical support, global rescue emergency cover, and Australian guides qualified in wilderness and high-altitude first aid.
✅ Elite training and preparation – An 8-month training program led by your expedition guide, building physical strength, technical skill, team connection and mental readiness.
✅ Premium inclusions – Luxury hotels, hot mountain showers, wifi, meals, heli flights, and more – thoughtful inclusions that bring comfort to every stage of your adventure.
✅ Tribe for life – This isn’t just a group; it’s a shared journey. You’ll grow together, move as one, and return part of something that lasts.

"Hands down the most incredible experience of my life. The Rossfit leaders ran a fun and professional expedition, and the build-up training was priceless!"
Michelle

"Being able to do the expedition with people who you'd met and trained with before you went away was a fantastic thing. There was such an amazing connection and comradery within our group particularly."
Ash

“We had an experience of a lifetime hiking to EBC. This was only possible because of the guidance we received from the Rossfit team. We were prepared for the challenges ahead thanks to, firstly, exercise schedules prepared by Ross, secondly, dietary and lifestyle guidelines, and finally, meticulous planning of our hike (from accommodation to choosing the right Sherpa for us). We could not have done this hike without Ross’ encouragement, preparation, insights, and his 24/7 support. It was indeed an amazingexperience.”
Amitabh

“From the first training sessions to finishing the trek in Nepal, the entire experience was transformative. The guided preparation not only built my physical endurance but also strengthened our group’s camaraderie, making the adventure even more rewarding. Trekking through the Himalayas, facing challenges at altitude and pushing beyond physical limits could have been overwhelming but with expert guidance and encouragement from Ross (and the sherpa guides) every obstacle became an opportunity to grow.”
Tim
