If you're not assessing, you're guessing...and I don't guess when it comes to your health. The onboarding process with Rossfit will be unlike any personal training or allied health assessment you've had before. We spend 3 hours diving deep into your goals, what you've tried in the past to improve your health and fitness, your current diet and lifestyle, training background, injuries, illnesses, and lots more. This might sound overwhelming - don't worry, if you think this is a bit too much, you aren't the first person to have that thought. 100% of my clients who I've taken through this assessment process have learnt new information about their body, and have fully valued the time dedicated to optimising their health and athletic performance.
The human body is a complex organism, made up of numerous organic systems that work in harmony to give you life, allow you to lift heavy weights, run up hills, appreciate a sunset, play with your kids, and perform at peak levels in the boardroom. It is precisely the reason that you are an organic organism that we must approach your health, fitness and longevity in an integrated manner. Making one isolated tweak to your lifestyle or training may not invoke a desirable response even if it is a positive change. I support you with a holistic approach to your health which is based around the 4 pillars (fundamentals) of health - nutrition, rest & recovery, movement and mindset.
I use the term Personal Training as most people are familiar with what that service is. In reality at Rossfit you will receive a level of service and an integrated approach that is far removed from the standard personal training service. I offer 1-on-1 and semi-private (up to 4 people) Health & Movement Coaching. In consultation with you, we develop a coaching rhythm that ensures your coaching sessions and out-of-session support are focused on the pillars of health where you require the most support. For some people this can be mostly exercise-based sessions, and for others their sessions may focus on stress management and nutrition.
Typically health & movement coaches have their preferred diets and exercise styles, however, at Rossfit I focus my attention on my client and what they require to achieve their desired outcomes. I have dedicated much of my adult life studying and putting into practise a wide spectrum of approaches to optimising health, vitality, longevity and athletic performance. The result is that I am more than capable of supporting clients at the level and specificity they require to reach their goals. I support clients through acute injury recovery and chronic injury/pain management. In conjunction with allied health professionals and medical practitioners (such as integrative medical doctors and specialists) I provide holistic health support to those suffering from numerous illnesses, including Lyme's disease, auto-immune diseases, diabetes, obesity, chronic fatigue, chronic stress, Alzheimer's, dementia, PCOS, gastro-intestinal illnesses, and others. As someone who thrives from pushing my body to it's limits in the mountains and on the jiu jitsu mats, I love and am a highly experienced coach at developing athletes - be it in track & field or outdoor sports (climbing, mountaineering, hiking, running, triathlon), as well as preparing recruits for service in the defence force, special forces and emergency services.
